If you're unhappy or uncomfortable with your day to day habits but have trouble trying to figure out how to change them in a positive and uplifting way, well, join the club! Healthy living isn't about worrying about your waistsize or spending hours in the gym; it's about feeling good about yourself and habits that make you full of positive energy.
From a person who went from a frustrated 240lbs to a positive 160, here's some practical ideas that worked for me.
Easy Cooking Ideas
The recepies inside are based on the fabled teachings of my mother Norah. All are freaking delicious, and provide a great opportunity to get in a wide variety of vegetables, proteins and assorted nutrients. As an ex-vegetarian (I now eat free range meat), and someone who has problems with dairy and wheat, I find it interesting that the foods which I have intolerances for tend to be the ones that clog up the system most. These are all extremely good for you.
Seven-Day Detox Plan
This was given to me back in Calgary a few years ago. If you find yourself in bad habits that leave you anxious to break, give this a twirl. It's an eating plan used by hospitals for patients who need to get their system in tip-top order the week leading up to an operation. You'll be amazed if you give it a shot just how amazing you'll feel with a couple of days eating only natural foods; and it will teach you a lot about yourself. On average, people lose 10-17lbs during the week - but it's not because you magically burn that much fat, rather, simply that your system is cleaning out a lot of the rubbish that keeps us retaining excess weight in the first place.

Finding straight-forward answers to some of the simplest questions about weightlifting can be frustratingly difficult. Most literature on the topic assumes a base level of knowledge. But how do you get started? Here I do my best to answer the questions I had when I started out.
